The Colts ruled two players out and gave fans news they have been begging for ahead of their Week 7 matchup vs. Dolphins

The Indianapolis Colts are coming off a big divisonal win in Week 6 over the Tennessee Titans, and they are looking to pick up a second straight win with the Miami Dolphins coming to town for Week 7.

And their final injury report following Friday's practice ruled two players out and gave a big update on starting quarterback Anthony Richardson.

Colts rule Jonathan Taylor out for Week 7

For the third straight week, the Colts will be without star running back Jonathan Taylor after he suffered a mild high ankle sprain at the end of their Week 4 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. The team also ruled out Chris Lammons, who has been a solid depth player this season. With Taylor out, the Colts will continue to rely on a backfield led by Trey Sermon and Tyler Goodson. Sermon has been dealing with a knee injury that held him out of Wednesday's practice. But his work on Thursday and Friday made the team comfortable enough not to give him any injury designation for Week 7, which means he's ready to go.

Anthony Richardson named the Colts starting QB for Week 7 vs. Dolphins

While the Colts aren't getting Taylor back this week, they are officially getting starting QB Anthony Richardson back on the field. Richardson missed the past two weeks due to an oblique/hip injury he suffered early in Week 4. The team chose to play it safe and keep him out the past two weeks, with their decision in Week 6 shocking many around the league . Head coach Shane Steichen shared this week it was important for the team that Richardson was as close to 100% as possible before putting him back on the field. Last week, they did make him inactive, but they did give him the emergency QB 3 role, which would mean if both Joe Flacco and Sam Ehlinger couldn't continue in Week 6, the team felt comfortable with Richarson coming in. Now, he is back where the team wants him most, which is as their starter.
