However, DBU registered five offensive chances, with key shots from Gavyn Rosales coming in the 15th minute off a Peyton Voelker free kick and then Chase Turcotte notching an attempt on frame two minutes later. Patriots goalkeeper Garrett McGee and the DBU defense shined bright in the first half, preventing any offensive moves from the Mustangs, as both sides entered halftime scoreless.A sense of urgency in the second half loomed over both teams as they searched for the first goal of the game. The Patriots dominated possession in the second half as Midwestern State was contrived to defend. The net saw multiple shots from DBU including a rocket-like header from Rosales forcing MSU's Daniel Robles into a diving save in the 64th minute. The Mustang's offense created some action, but it was quickly broken by the Patriot's defense. The tide seemed to change as Midwestern State was awarded a free kick outside the goal box leading to a scramble from the Patriots defense. Nonetheless, DBU was able to hold off multiple shots on goal from Max Gonzales leaving the score null on both sides as the match entered the 87th minute. Both teams fought to have any kind of opportunity in the box, but neither team was able to find a goal before time ran out bringing the score to a final 0-0 draw. PATRIOT STORYLINES - Garrett McGee shined in Wednesday's match as he recorded his second career shutout with three saves.- Wednesday draw marked DBU's second tie in conference play, and they gained one point to contribute to their LSC standing. - Gavyn Rosales dominated the Patriot's offense putting up five shots.
