This poses a substantial risk to individuals with allergies or intolerances, as they rely on accurate ingredient labeling to avoid harmful products.In an update issued on Wednesday, the FDA confirmed the severity of the situation. Undeclared ingredients can lead to dangerous reactions for those with specific food allergies. For instance, individuals allergic to soy may experience symptoms ranging from mild rashes and hives to severe anaphylaxis, which can be life-threatening. Symptoms of soy allergies can manifest immediately or be delayed for hours or even days. Similarly, egg allergies can lead to rashes, stomach pains, and, in rare cases, anaphylaxis.Approximately 120 packages of the affected potato salad were distributed in Washington State, each weighing 0.56 pounds.
