Couple’humiliated’ after just 16 of their 80 guests RSVP to ‘rave’ themed wedding: ‘Reevaluating friendships’

If only this rave-themed wedding could be remixed.
An engaged couple is feeling “humiliated” after an overwhelming majority of their invited guests declined to attend their upcoming wedding ceremony — a rave in the woods.
On Reddit , the unnamed bride detailed how she and her husband-to-be booked a “huge cabin” in a remote area and that they would wed by having a “party with a glow/rave theme.”
“We made it clear on the invite that accommodations would be free and included for two nights, and that we would provide all meals and alcohol,” she wrote, according to People .
“We have had some people texting us and bailing out. So now we’re down to around 16 people (mostly couples) who will be there,” she wrote. “And there’s still two weeks to go before the event, so I’m sure that number will drop more.”
Meanwhile, the “heartbroken” bride has had her sights on this day for over a year and had group chats going to pick outfit theme ideas.
In her words: “It was going to be such an amazing party.”
Meanwhile, her husband also “feels humiliated and is reevaluating his friendships.”
Redditors weighed in with their own opinions, with some sharing where they think things went wrong.
“I feel like it’s probably a combo of the non traditional-ness of it all and the fact that, to some people, it probably reads as a whole weekend away instead of just an evening at a party,” one wrote. “I feel like that type of commitment, even if it’s not actually expected for everyone, can turn people off and make them hesitant.”
Meanwhile, someone else called out the logistics of the situation and how it probably played into people’s choices.
“You invited 80 people to a cabin, but with only 15 bedrooms? None of that sounds remotely appealing to me. I’m betting people looked up the accommodations and noped out for the same reasons.”
Another passed along advice to look on the bright side of things.
“You’re allowed to feel disappointed but you should absolutely try and focus on the people who are coming. With 15 rooms, there’s more space for people to spread out and be comfortable.”

I don't do weddings. I told all my friends and family. in spite of telling them, I still got 2 invites that I threw out. I guess they finally got the picture, as I have not received an invite in years
