Blake Lively Posts Lengthy Response To Travis Kelce, Jason Kelce's Critique

Actress Blake Lively recently acknowledged former Philadelphia Eagles star Jason Kelce’s insights about the film “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” on the podcast “New Heights.”

Lively, pop star Taylor Swift's close friend, called Jason “a natural investigative journalist sniffing out the hidden truth” after he and his brother, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, discussed the movie during an episode.

The Kelce brothers shared their thoughts about the 2005 coming-of-age film featuring Lively and her co-stars America Ferrera, Amber Tamblyn and Alexis Bledel.

In their podcast, the Kelce brothers watched “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” for the first time. Jason expressed confusion about the film's central theme involving the magical pants.

Travis said, “I’m excited to watch. I think we planned on watching this together.”

Jason responded, "You’re honestly excited to watch this movie? What in the title makes you excited to watch this movie?… Do you know anything about this movie?”

He noted that the pants “didn’t have much to do with the plot,” which prompted laughter among listeners.

“A movie about pants and sisterhood — two of my least favorite things,” Jason joked.

Lively took to her Instagram to clarify that the pants were added later in the story to create a magical element inspired by trends from the time, especially the popularity of “Harry Potter.” She explained, “The pants illustrate the sometimes inexplicable magic of the female bond.”

The film tells the story of four friends who stay connected through a pair of jeans as they go through different life experiences. Jason said his wife, Kylie Kelce, pointed out that the pants symbolize friendship saying, “It’s a symbol that their friends are always with them.”

Jason and Travis both praised Lively’s performance, with Jason stating, “She did absolutely wonderful as Bridget." Travis added that her story was “the most relatable and most fun.”

Jason concluded, “It’s a good movie that ages well, telling storylines that are important.”

Lively humorously suggested that if it were made today, it might be titled “Sisterhood of the Printed Jean Pajama Bottoms.”
