Liam Payne, the former One Direction star, tragically passed away on Wednesday at the age of 31. The beloved musician suffered a fatal fall from a third-floor balcony in a hotel in Argentina, where he was vacationing with his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy.

During his stay, Liam showed up to support his ex-bandmate, Niall Horan, in what would be his last public appearance. He was spotted in a VIP box at the Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires, enthusiastically clapping and interacting with fans.

Videos of him singing along to "Summer Lovin'" from the Grease soundtrack went viral on TikTok, with some users cruelly labeling his behavior as "cringe" and awkward.

These clips have since resurfaced, with fans now interpreting his actions as a heartbreaking "cry for help." One user commented: "This was a cry for help I'm sure of it," while another agreed: "Finally now people are saying this but it's too late."

A third added: "He wasn't stealing attention, he was saying goodbye," accompanied by a broken heart emoji, reports the Mirror .

Before embarking on a journey that would become his last, Liam had shared his plans on social media, saying: "We're going to Argentina. One, because we have to, and two, because we want to, and three, because Niall Horan's playing down there and I think we might just go and say 'Hello'. It's been a while since me and Niall have spoken. We've got a lot to talk about and I would like to square up a couple things with the boy. No bad vibes or nothing like that, but just, we need to talk."

In what would be their final moments together, Liam captured a cozy scene with Kate on Snapchat, dining late into the afternoon, as he remarked, "This is the breakfast table, just enjoying breakfast and coffee even though it's 1pm."

The pair were spending time at a friend's house, and Kate teased in the background that the couple were "losers" for lounging around at noon. The post also included a casual mirror selfie of Liam and Kate.

Tragically, as investigations into the star's death are ongoing and an autopsy is anticipated, fans have begun to mourn, leaving tributes at the hotel where his life abruptly ended.
