The student panelists were Jesus Salazar, San Diego Mesa College student; Chenelson Estiverne, San Diego Continuing College of Education student, Christopher Gimutao, San Diego City College and San Diego Mesa College student; AJ Harris, Grossmont College student; and George Buchanan, San Diego Mesa College Transfer student. The student panelists talked about personal challenges they have encountered as men of color enrolled in college and how the resources provided by their respective community colleges helped them overcome those challenges. Resources on campus such as immigration services, the Veterans Center, the Athletics Department, and empathetic professors of color have helped guide these students on a path to success.
