California city bans booze, litter, traffic blockades for Halloween celebration

The Santa Cruz Police Department has designated a Safety Enhancement Zone in the downtown area for Halloween 2024. This zone will be in effect from Thursday, October 31 at 8:00 AM until Monday, November 4 at 8:00 AM, the department stated.

The Safety Enhancement Zone is intended to prevent illegal activities during the busy Halloween period, such as public alcohol consumption, littering, and blocking traffic, according to Santa Cruz city officials. Violations of the city’s municipal code within the zone will result in tripled fines, as part of efforts to maintain public safety and ensure a safe celebration for everyone, police stated.

So, it's okay for all the indegent, invasive, rude, drugged out and drunk regulars to make a mess of the mall for 362 days, but when taxpaying locals go out in their own home town they actually start applying the law. Such BS. ,
