The T-Birds were picked to finish ahead of Colby, Independence, Pratt, and Fort Hays Tech Northwest.Hutchinson, the defending NJCAA women's basketball national champions, was chosen as the favorite to win the conference again this season, receiving 10 first place votes. Dodge City was picked to finish second. Barton, receiving one first place vote was slated to finish third, while Garden City, receiving one first place vote, was selected to finish fourth.
