Fans are encouraged to wear pink to Saturday's match to support the fight against Breast Cancer.The T-Birds (5-18, 0-12 KJCCC) had a tough outing on the road against the Garden City Broncbusters on October 16, losing a five-set battle, 17-25, 15-25, 25-22, 26-24, 10-15. The T-Birds battled down-to-the-wire in search of their first conference win of the year. Cloud County landed their blows in the third and fourth frames, however their late rally came up five points shy. Freshman Grace Rowland led the T-Bird offense with 20 kills to go along with six digs and three block assists. Sophomore Bradie Medina posted her 22nd double-double of her career, including her 15th of the season, by tallying 14 kills and 22 digs. Sophomore Emery May provided five kills, four assists and four block assists. Sophomore Kloë Waymel and freshman Carlie Carlgren both finished with four kills and five digs each. Freshman setter Savana Krupicka dished out a team-high 27 assists, marking her third straight match with 20 assists or more. Krupicka also had seven digs and two block assists. Defensively, freshman libero Berkleigh Curtis led Cloud County with 24 digs. Freshman Maria Clara Lopes Miranda added 11 digs and 14 assists.Hutchinson (13-17, 4-6 KJCCC) comes into Saturday's match following a straight-set victory over Garden City on October 14. The Blue Dragons snapped a seven-match losing streak by beating the Broncbusters by set scores of 29-27, 25-22, 25-19. The Blue Dragons possess a 2-6 road record this season, winning road matches over Pratt and Seward County in conference play. Hutchinson has been led by freshman outside hitter Atlyn Proctor of Nelson, British Columbia, Canada. Proctor leads the conference in total kills with 298. Addison Foster, a freshman defensive specialist from Derby, Kansas, currently leads the conference in digs with 463, an average of 4.5 digs per set.Hutchinson has won 17 matches in a row against the T-Birds, as the Blue Dragons have not dropped a match to Cloud County since October 7, 2013.First serve scheduled for 3 pm.
