(KWCH) - The Scott Community Beavers defeated the Goodland Cowboys 48-9 to remain undefeated in 3A District 8 and extend their win streak over the Cowboys to 21 consecutive games.Goodland’s first drive took them to within the 10-yard line. A third and goal pass intended for Linkon Cure was broken up at the goal line. Michael Johnston made the 27-yard field goal on the next play.Scott Community took the ball on their 35-yard line after the kickoff rolled out of bounds. The Beavers took the lead after Cayden Couchman ran the ball in from 18 yards out for a touchdown. He would run it in for the two-point conversion to put his team up 8-3.As the half went on, Scott Community established a pass rush that often made Goodland’s Zach Thorson scramble.Cayden Couchman started the Beavers’ third possession with a 60-yard rush starting on their 31. Three plays later, Couchman would score from four yards out.After the extra point was kicked through the uprights, Scott Community led 15-3.The next Beaver touchdown went to quarterback Camden Vulgamore. Vulgamore ran the ball to the one-yard line from the 16-yard marker for Goodland. On the next play, he completed his mission and scored the touchdown.Cayden Couchman would catch a 34-yard pass to score another touchdown in the first half.The Beavers went to their halftime locker room with a 29-3 score.Goodland received the kick to start the second half but could not score.They did score with 4:14 to go in the third quarter. Linkon Cure caught a pass from 11 yards out for the Cowboys’ lone touchdown. Michael Johnston missed the extra-point kick.Scott City responded to the Cowboy touchdown with one of their own. Camden Vulgamore capped a nine-play drive with a 31-yard rush for six points. Jackson Rumford added the extra point to give the Beavers a 36-9 lead.Matthew Wheeler added two more touchdowns for Scott Community. The first was from one yard out, and the second was from 21 yards out as time expired to end the game.Scott Community rushed for a total of 349 yards. Cayden Couchman accounted for 123 yards. He scored two rushing touchdowns and a receiving touchdown.Camden Vulgamore ran the ball six times for 46 yards and two touchdowns. Matthew Wheeler touched the ball six times for 44 yards and two touchdowns.Vulgamore threw 13 times with eight completions for 92 yards.Goodland’s Zach Thorson aired it out more with 20 catches on 39 passes for 205 yards and a touchdown.Goodland sees their record go to 4-3.
