Oregon Fans Slam Fox Broadcast for Major Blunder

Oregon cruised past Purdue 35-0 on Friday night but Ducks fans noticed something a bit off as head coach Dan Lanning popped up on the screen after the score went final.

A graphic that mistakenly spelled Oregon as "Ouregon" quickly caught the attention of fans on social media, sparking a wave of reactions. Many found humor in the typo, with some playfully adopting the new spelling.

"It's not Myegon, it's not Youregon, it's Ouregon," one fan said .

"OUREGON?" another said . "They might as well have just put OUREGION cause Ducks run the West coast and the Midwest."

Others were a bit miffed that Oregon was spelled wrong, considering the Ducks are the No. 2 team in the country.

"Maybe learn to spell our name Fox…OUREGON?" another said .

Despite the criticism, it was delivered with a lighthearted tone, especially as the graphic highlighted that Oregon is off to its fourth 7-0 start since 2010.

The Ducks racked up 421 yards of offense in the win against Purdue. Heisman hopeful Dillon Gabriel was nearly perfect outside of an interception before the half. He completed 21-of-25 passes for 290 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

The Ducks' defense also came through, posting its first road shutout since 1992.

“I think we showed what we’re capable of,” Lanning said after the game. “It’s our first shutout in a long time. This conference is tough, and you've got to be able to go on the road and get a win."

Lanning and Oregon get a ranked opponent next week as they host No. 22 Illinois.
