Are you seeing a lot of skeletons in Delaware? Here's the reason for it

Drive around most neighborhoods and you'll see grizzly ghouls from every tomb closing in to seal your doom.

Along with Christmas, Halloween is when people decorate their house with everything from inflatable Bluey in a Halloween costume to a plethora of tombstones.

While each home has its decorating style, each state has its favorite decoration.  A recent study from J Bell Services , which provides Halloween lighting services, analyzed more than 5,000 Google search terms and uncovered which Halloween decorations are the most popular in each state.

The First State follows a trend in the East Coast by favoring skeletons. The boney options have grown in popularity. Not only can you purchase a 20-foot skeleton for your front yard, but you can also pick up a more traditional 5- to 6-foot skeleton and have it mowing the lawn, sneaking in your house or anything as long as it doesn't annoy the neighbors – or you can if you don't like your neighbors, your call.

Skeletons were the most popular holiday decoration in eight states including New Jersey.

    What is popular in Pennsylvania?

If you drive across the border for trick-or-treating, you should prepare to see a few bats. Pennsylvania prefers the creepy night flyer.

What are the most popular items?

Seven states, none of which are on the East Coast, have pumpkins as their favorite decorations. Six states gravitate toward spiders – though you don't necessarily have to buy anything if the climate is still right. Six states chose witches as the top decorating item.

    Puzzling holiday decorations

Michael Myers was a favorite decoration in two states, but neither was Illinois where the horror character was from. New Jersey's Jason Voorhees of Friday the 13th fame wasn't a favorite in any state.

Alaskans have a different view of what is scary as the top spooky decoration is a candelabra. Birthday cakes for those over 15 must really freak them out.

I can't believe I just read this article....smh. It's definitely not worth the keystrokes to write. just go unearth relatives from your local cemetery and prop them up if that's more natural

Stop buying plastic skeletons for Halloween. They are terrible for the environment. Locally sourced, all natural skeletons are much more environmentally friendly. They take a bit of prep work, but so worth it 💀 Lol 😂
