Jay Cutler looked horrendous in his mug shot after arrest

Former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler was arrested in Franklin, Tennessee on Thursday evening and charged with driving while under the influence, possession of a handgun while under the influence, failure to exercise due care and violation of implied consent law.

The arrest came following an accident report. When police arrived on scene, they discovered that Cutler had rear-ended another vehicle and was slurring his words. He reportedly refused to take field sobriety tests.

Cutler was booked into Williamson County Jail and released on $5,000 bond. Shortly thereafter, his mug shot was released and suffice it to say, Cutler appeared to fit the mold of a heavily intoxicated person who shouldn’t have been behind the wheel of a car… Or basically anything with wheels.

Given that was no one was seriously injured in the accident or its aftermath, that paved the way for social media to have some fun at Cutler’s expense. Perhaps more specifically, paved the way for NFL fans to laugh at the mugshot.

A first-round pick of the Denver Broncos in the 2006 NFL Draft, Cutler spent 12 years in the NFL. He also had stints with the Chicago Bears and Miami Dolphins, and was named to his only Pro Bowl in 2008. Following his retirement, he was also named among the 100 greatest Bears of All-Time.

To some, Cutler is known for the reality show “Very Cavallari,” which focused on his life with ex-wife Kristin Cavallari and their three children. The two officially announced their divorce in April of 2020 after 10 years together.

After stepping away from the game of football, Cutler had expressed a desire to get into broadcasting but that never quite panned out.
