<div>The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a late-night fatal traffic crash that occurred in Beach Park.On October 18, 2024, at approximately 11:15 p.m., Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to Green Bay Road and Aviation Drive for a car versus motorcycle traffic crash with injuries. When sheriff’s deputies arrived, they found the operator of the motorcycle, a 56-year-old man of Beach Park, deceased.Preliminary investigation shows the motorcycle, a 2007 Suzuki GSXR600 was traveling southbound on Green Bay Road. According to witnesses, the motorcycle operator was traveling at an excessively fast speed. As the motorcycle was traveling southbound, a 2022 Kia Rio, operated by a 28-year-old man of Beach Park, was making a left turn from northbound Green Bay Road onto westbound Chaplin Street. As the Kia turned, the motorcycle struck the passenger side of the Kia, and the driver of the motorcycle was thrown from the motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle sustained fatal injuries. The driver of the Kia, and a passenger in the Kia, a 23-year-old woman of Beach Park were both uninjured.The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Team. </div>
