Jelly Roll thinks the WWE is telling stories better than it ever has before.

The rapper has been making appearances recently in the WWE. Most notably, he sang “God Bless America” at Summerslam 2024, before hitting Austin Theory with a chokeslam and five-knuckle shuffle .

Jelly Roll spoke with Logan Paul on the Impaulsive Podcast , where he discussed how impressed he has been with the WWE in recent years. He called the storytelling “the best since the Cena era”, and explained how they are doing well in mixing long-term stories with moments for the social media generation. He named the Bloodline storyline and Cody Rhodes “finishing the story” as two good examples.

“I’m truly a fan, and I think the storytelling right now is probably the best it’s been in a long time. I think it’s the best it’s been since the Cena era.” Jelly Roll told Logan Paul.

“And to see Cena coming back around, you know what I mean? Before that, it was the Attitude Era, almost. I’d say wrestling is bigger than it’s ever been right now—totally. It’s really fun, and WWE is finding a way to serve two masters. They’re keeping people engaged every single week and keeping it fast because the times need fast stories, but they’re also allowing bigger stories to develop over longer periods of time.” Jelly Roll said.

“Like watching the Bloodline develop over 36 months, or taking three WrestleManias for Cody to finish his story. They kept us so engaged that we almost forgot we had been watching these big storylines play out because they were giving us the little fast nuggets we needed for Instagram and TikTok, too. I think they’re doing the best they’ve ever done.”
