A lady who had been unemployed believed she had finally landed a job when she was employed by Wendy's. Yet, she mentioned that after failing to show up for her start time, which she was not notified about, she lost the position before she had the chance to begin her first work shift.

Tyja kicks off her video by sharing the most unbelievable experience she had while searching for employment. She reveals that she's been unemployed for a full seven months, and her financial circumstances had reached such a low point that she was forced to leave her house and couldn't keep up with her monthly expenses.

However, her luck began to change when she got a call from a Wendy's restaurant. The person responsible for hiring, who Tyja describes as the district manager for the restaurant chain in her region, reached out to her on a Saturday.

In her interview, Tyja mentioned that she really pleaded with the individual for the position because she's been unemployed for an extended period. She also told the audience that she prefers roles that allow her to work from a warehouse or at home, but she was open to taking a job in the fast food industry to cover her expenses.

"I'm grateful because this is what I got," she says to her viewers. She goes on to state "An hour after I leave the interview with the district manager, I get a call from one of the other managers telling me I'm hired an hour later. She's like, 'You need to come up here on Sunday and do your paperwork.'"

Tyja shared the remainder of her narrative, and based on the tone, it seemed like she was doing well so far. "So, I head up there and I tackle my paperwork, and it's a completely different shift manager I've never met. This guy is white. I spend about an hour doing my paperwork, and once I'm done, he says, 'Alright, someone's going to call you and they'll let you know your start date.'"

At this stage, Tyja is thrilled she managed to land a job once more, all it took was a bit of patience for her start date. "Just to note, I had the interview on a Sunday, and by Monday, I hadn't heard anything."

The next day, Tyja gets a notification that's not something you'd expect to see on a new employee's phone. "Tuesday rolls around at noon. I get a text from the district manager saying I'm supposed to start at noon. But, y'all, I've got my phone records. I haven't gotten any calls, no voice mails, nothing."

"I explain to her that I haven't heard from anybody since Sunday when I did the paperwork. And she calls me immediately after I send her that message. She calls me, she's basically like, 'Oh yeah you were supposed to start today.' I explained to her that I hadn't talked to anybody and then she gives me the option to start today or to start and finish out the rest of the week starting tomorrow."

Tyja informed the district manager that she wouldn't be able to make it to work that day because the notice for the call was "so short" and because she wasn't aware she was scheduled to work. The district manager seemed displeased with her explanation. "She didn't seem to like it," the TikToker mentioned. "When I mentioned tomorrow, she asked why. I explained it was short notice, like I hadn't received any information."

"She replied, 'OK, I'll see you tomorrow.' I agreed to that." Yet, it seemed there was a growing tension between them as the manager abruptly ended the call and then sent a text to the new employee. "She immediately messaged me and said this," the TikToker recounted, showing a screenshot of their text conversation.

"This message was for Tyla, you were supposed to begin your first shift at noon today."

Tyla replied with the following message: "Hi, good afternoon. I wasn't informed about the start date. I came on Sunday to do some paperwork. He mentioned to the shift leader or manager for Monday would contact me about the start date, and I haven't received any call until today."

The district manager sent a text saying they no longer needed Tyja at the Wendy's restaurant. Tyja replied, saying she didn't know about the job offer. Tyja was upset because she couldn't find a job for seven months and felt blamed for the miscommunication. She ended the video by saying, "Moral of the story: keep your job. Yes, I've been crying."
