Commanders Plan For Brian Robinson Jr. Return vs. Panthers

Washington Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr. hasn't been himself over the last few weeks.

After injuring his knee in the 34-13 win over the Cleveland Browns, head coach Dan Quinn, with the game in hand, chose to sit B-Rob out in an attempt to rest him. However, the running back struggled to practice the following week and subsequently missed the loss to the Baltimore Ravens as a precaution.

But now, after Robinson Jr. has been at practice this week, is he nearing a return against the Carolina Panthers ?

"I feel great," Robinson said . "More like myself again."

With Robinson potentially returning, he will join Austin Ekeler and Jayden Daniels in the Commanders' much-vaunted run game, which is one of the best in football (157.3 yards per game).

But perhaps what has made Washington's run game under offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury so potent is that Robinson Jr. and Ekeler have different styles.

    And Robinson Jr. agrees.

"We all have our own skill sets that we need to try to maximize," Robinson said. "We try to complement each other the best way we can. If I need to be physical so Austin can come in and slice guys up, then we need to try to maximize that."

The Commanders have rushed for over 100 yards in five of their six games, and three of those have been over 200, so that appears to be the way forward for the offense against Carolina.

And with Robinson eyeing a return to link up with Ekeler, the Commanders offense will be a tough unit to stop for a Panthers team that struggles against the run.
