6-10 PF Asher Elson talks Syracuse, Georgia Tech as he updates his recruitment

Asher Elson , a 6-foot-10 power forward originally from New York, averaged 9.7 points on 1.2 made threes this summer for the NY Wiz Kids program on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit. This summer he transferred to Atlanta (GA) Overtime Elite.

Through his first four games this season with Overtime Elite, Elson is averaging 13.4 points and shooting 36.4 percent from three on 2.8 attempts. He is adding 3.8 rebounds, 1.3 steals, 1.0 blocks, and 1.3 dunks per game

“I’m a two-way player,” Elson told On3 . “I’m a shooter so I’m getting to my spots and rising up. I like to watch a lot of Brandon Miller or Kevin Durant, I watch some Brandon Ingram and guys like that. I’m working on getting stronger.”

On3 caught up with three-star Asher Elson after a recent live viewing to discuss the latest in his recruitment.

“Right now I have offers from Syracuse, Illinois, Georgia Tech, Creighton, St. John’s,” Elson said. “Those are probably the main ones. I’m supposed to be taking a visit to Georgia Tech and Syracuse in October.”

GEORGIA TECH : “ Coach (Damon) Stoudamire played in the NBA, and that is where I’m trying to go. And he is great friends with my AAU coach.”

SYRACUSE : “They fit my playing style, spacing out the floor. Coach Red Autry , I like the way he coaches, I know he would be a coach that pushes me.”

“Right now, I’m in the 2025 class,” Elson said. “We have talked about maybe going to 2026, we’ll see. I want to go to a school that trusts me and that wants me to develop. I also want to play right away.”
