Lee Corso Names Top 5 Team That Might Not Make the College Football Playoff

The college football season is now beyond the halfway mark, and the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff picture is beginning to take shape.

With several significant matchups still ahead, there is potential for changes in the standings. One crucial game that could impact the playoffs is Saturday's clash between the No. 1 Texas Longhorns and No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs. The winner of this game will likely become the favorite to win the SEC, while the loser will face an uphill battle to regain their position in the race.

"College GameDay" analyst Lee Corso suggested to his colleague, Kirk Herbstreit, that a loss for Georgia could have greater implications than a loss for Texas. He noted that if Georgia were to lose, it could jeopardize their chances of making the playoffs, as it would then have incurred its second loss of the season.

"Maybe not make the playoffs because of it," Corso said in a video posted to Herbstreit's Twitter account. "You never know, other teams in the country winning and losing. A two-loss team might not make it. There might be enough one-loss teams."

The Bulldogs lost a heartbreaker early this season to the Alabama Crimson Tide. Georgia fell down 28-0 before rallying to take a 34-33 lead late in the game. However, Alabama bounced back and ultimately win 41-34.

Corso believes Georgia might be left out if it does not secure a significant win on Saturday. Georgia will face Texas at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
