Both played Bryant to a scoreless draw. Rhode Island defeated Providence 1-0, while Massachusetts fell to the Friars, 2-1.</li><li>UMass has played Saint Joseph's (won 4-0), Brown (won 1-0), and Davidson (lost 4-2), which happens to be Rhode Island's final three opponents of the season. </li></ul>A LOOK AT THE OPPONENT <ul><li>Saturday's match will be Senior Day for Rhode Island, with 10 players being honored before kickoff.</li></ul>The players being honored are:Defender Izzy Namusse - A native of Fogo, Cape Verde who transferred to Rhode Island from Southern New Hampshire. In his lone season with the Rams, he has been a vital piece of the defense, starting nine of the 11 matches he has played so far.Defender Rodrigo De Castro - A two-year starter on the backline for the Rams. A native of Brazil, he transferred to Rhode Island from Bethel University and has been a starting center back since the day he arrived, starting all 20 matches he has played while in Kingston. Goalie Edu Rodriguez - A native of Spain who has been one of the top goalkeepers in the country in his two seasons in Kingston. He has started all 24 matches he has played since transferring from Campbell, recording 12 solo shutouts and one combined shutout while posting a 1.24 goals-against average. He is a two-time Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week. Forward Íñigo Etxegarai - Another Spain native, he has started 21 of the 28 matches he has played for the Rams, recording four goals and four assists along the way. Forward Brandon Bermingham - A dangerous striker who spent two seasons with Rhode Island after transferring from William Carey. He has started 15 of the 20 matches he has appeared in for the Rams. Over that time, he has a team-best eight goals to go along with one assist. Goalie Nate DiLoreto - He has been excellent in goal when called upon, starting five of the six matches he has started for Rhode Island. He has a career record of 4-0-2 while recording two solo shutouts and one combined shutout. His career goals-against average with URI is a sparkling 0.91. Midfielder Patrick Gryczewski - He has spent three seasons patrolling the midfield for the Rams. He has started 27 of the 33 matches he has played thus far for Rhode Island, scoring five goals and distributing three assists along the way. He has four game-winning goals during his time in Kingston.Defender Jason Morrill - A Connecticut native who has spent four seasons in Kingston as part of the Rhode Island defense. He has started 16 of the 22 matches he has played for the Rams, logging nearly 1500 minutes on the pitch. Forward Isak Oystese - A native of Norway who has led the Rhode Island attack for the last four seasons. He burst on the scene as the 2021 Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year and is in the program's top 50 with 31 career points, scoring 12 goals with seven assists thus far. He has started 39 of the 57 career matches he has played for the Rams, logging more than 3200 minutes of playing time.Midfielder Ivan Montoro - A leader in the midfield since arriving on campus four years ago. A native of Madrid, Spain, he has started 49 of the 54 matches he has played for the Rams, recording four goals and four assists along the way. With nearly 4000 minutes of playing time, he has been a constant presence on the pitch when healthy.A LOOK AT THE OPPONENT <ul><li>Massachusetts is 2-2-1 in Atlantic 10 play, putting the Minutemen one point ahead of Rhode Island in the conference standings.</li><li>UMass is coming off a 1-0 win over Holy Cross on Tuesday night.</li><li>With 32 goals, Massachusetts ranks fifth in the country.</li><li>The Minutemen have allowed 17 goals, giving them a plus-15 goal differential, which ranks 15th in the country and second in the Atlantic 10.</li><li>Graduate student forward Alec Hughes leads the Atlantic 10 and ranks seventh in the nation with 10 goals.</li><li>The 2023 Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Year also has three game-winning goals, which is 12th nationally.</li><li>UMass keeper Alex Geczy is sixth in the nation and leads the A-10 with six shutouts.</li><li>Geczy has a 1.225 goals-against average, allowing two or more goals six times.</li><li>Head coach Fran O'Leary is in his 10th season at the helm and has a record of 77-63-35.</li><li>He led the Minutemen to both an A-10 regular-season and tournament title in 2017.</li><li>In 34 total seasons as a college coach, O'Leary has a record of 311-198-81. </li></ul>RAMS LOOKING TO PLAY THEIR WAY INTO POSTSEASON <ul><li>Saturday is a key match for Rhode Island's postseason hopes, as the Rams trail Massachusetts and La Salle by one point for seventh place in the Atlantic 10 standings.</li><li>URI is alone in ninth place, one spot out of the postseason race. </li><li>The top eight teams made the Atlantic 10 Championship.</li><li>With its final three conference matches, Rhode Island will play UMass (tied for seventh place), Saint Joseph's (currently in last place) and Davidson (fourth place).</li><li>Rhode Island is within three points of fourth-place Davidson.</li><li>The teams that enter the weekend in spots four through 12 in the league standings are all separated by just five points at most, keeping most of the conference well within striking distance of the postseason.</li><li>The 2024 Atlantic 10 postseason is taking shape as teams reached the midpoint of conference play this week.</li><li>The top eight teams in the league standings qualify.</li><li>Duquesne and George Mason lead the league with 12 points each, though no teams have officially clinched a spot yet.</li><li>Rhody is looking to qualify for the Atlantic 10 Championship for the first time since 2021.</li></ul></div></body>
