And, just more than two hours into the 2024 Baltimore Marathon, there was one sole men’s leader immediately followed by no one.</p><p>Fink, 30, of Cincinnati, was running a sub-4-minute mile in his first marathon as he pulled away from the pack about an hour and 34 minutes in. He finished 2:21:38 after coming off an Achilles injury last year but made it look easy in Baltimore. When he spoke with 11 News after the race, he wasn’t out of breath — he said his tank wasn’t even empty yet.</p><p>Heather Goodman, with Under Armour, said Fink is a long-distance member of the UA pro-team. She said Fink usually runs the 5K and 10K, so this is a “big step up in distance” for him.</p><p>“We did a lot of long runs to get ready for the pace, get ready for the hills, and I think it prepared me,” Fink told 11 News. “Definitely, the hills around mile 18 (were the worst) because you go up a relatively large hill. Then, it’s kind of flat, then you go up another large hill.”</p><p>The winner in the women’s race was Sara Kenefick, of Charlotte, N.C., who finished at 3:03:42.
