However, Clare's mother, who has dementia, became seriously ill, prompting them to quickly arrange their vows so her mother could be present.

In February 2023, they held an intimate wedding in Sacramento but forgot to file for a marriage license. Busy with surrogacy plans and moving into a new home, the couple didn’t realize this until they were filing taxes. Although they considered skipping the legal step, they decided to get officially married in Las Vegas, celebrating with an Elvis-themed ceremony and a fun drive in a pink Cadillac.

Clare reflected on their journey, expressing gratitude for how their relationship has grown, especially as they raise their daughter together. Ryan’s calming presence helps balance Clare’s more anxious nature, strengthening their bond through parenthood.
