The 2024 college football season was expected to be unlike any other due to conference realignment and the expanded College Football Playoff field, and there are some storylines that continue to leave fans and analysts in disbelief seven weeks into the season.

The Indiana Hoosiers enter a massive matchup with the Nebraska Cornhuskers as a 6-0 team under new head coach Curt Cignetti. Fox college football analyst Joel Klatt said that's the most surprising development so far this season as "Big Noon Kickoff" makes Bloomington, Indiana, their home for Week 8.

"I still think the biggest surprise guys is what's going on right here in Bloomington," Klatt said.

"If you look at what Indiana was picked to start the year, next to last in the Big Ten," Klatt said. "Yet, here they are undefeated, and it's not like they've squeaked by everybody. They're the No. 2 scoring offense in the country."

The 2024 Hoosiers entered the record books following their Week 5 win, advancing to 5-0 for the first time since 1967. They outscored opponents 244-65 in their first five games before beating Northwestern 41-24 in Week 7.

Cignetti looks to continue his undefeated start with the Hoosiers against the Nebraska Cornhuskers in Week 8. Kickoff is slated for Saturday at noon ET on Fox.
