Indiana played host to Fox Sports' "Big Noon Kickoff" ahead of its duel with Nebraska on Saturday. Hoosier fans left quite the impression on those watching along, showering hosts Brady Quinn, Rob Stone, Mark Ingram, Urban Meyer and Matt Leinart with plenty of praise...and even more corn.

The program was filled with hijinks, as is customary for any broadcast of "Big Noon Kickoff." Still, few could match the star power of the clash of palettes that captured the cameras' glare Saturday morning.

"Big Noon Kickoff" provided the perfect venue to a food war between a pair of Indiana supporters and Joey Chestnut. You can probably guess the way such a matchup turned out.

Chestnut is a multifaceted athlete, equally capable of scarfing down chicken wings, gyoza and poutine as he is hot dogs. This time around, his nutriment of choice was corn, a foodstuff readily available in the Hoosier State — but perhaps more connected to the Hoosiers' opponents, the Cornhuskers.

Sandwiched between a pair of excitable college-aged foes, Chestnut looked right at home. He mowed through the corn on a cob in a vicious manner, turning every kernel into carnage.

Across 45 seconds, Chestnut demolished five cobs of corn. His competitors were far less effective, although there's something to be said about their willingness to test their gullets against the world's greatest eater.

It's unclear where Chestnut's allegiances lie ahead of Saturday's 12 p.m. ET duel between the No. 16 Hoosiers (6-0) and the Cornhuskers (5-1). But his appetite for corn might bode ill for Nebraska.

And his penchant for ingestion certainly left a captivating taste in the mouths of the parishioners who pooled around Memorial Stadium ahead of Saturday afternoon's duel.

Chestnut may have been repping Kilroy's Sports Bar, a Bloomington, Indiana, watering hole frequented by IU students, during his "Big Noon Kickoff" appearance. He doesn't actually have a connection to Indiana University, though — Chestnut attended San Jose State, graduating with a degree in engineering and construction management.

    Where is Joey Chestnut from?

Chestnut was born in Kentucky but raised in Vallejo, California. He currently resides in Westfield, Indiana, a 80-minute drive from Bloomington. That might explain his presence at Saturday's game.
