1 Person Killed in Marietta House Fire

One person was killed in a house fire Friday night at a Marietta residence, Cobb Fire reports.

At approximately 9:20 p.m., crews responded to reports of a structure fire in a house on the 4700 block of Jamerson Forest Circle in Marietta. Officials found the house engulfed in flames upon arrival and immediately began fire attack and search and rescue efforts.

An unidentified victim was located inside the house and pronounced dead at the scene after being evacuated. The victim's identity will be released by the Cobb Police Department, according to officials.

Crews extinguished the fire and completed overhaul to ensure it was completely out. The incident is currently under investigation.
