ZAYN is postponing his upcoming tour in the wake of his fellow One Direction alum Liam Payne 's sudden death earlier this week.

The "Pillow Talk" singer took to his Instagram Stories on Saturday (October 19) to announce that the U.S. leg of his Stairway to the Sky tour, which was set to kick off October 23 , is being pushed back until the beginning of 2025 following the "heartbreaking loss" of his friend. He added that tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled dates and that more information will be shared soon.

"Given the heartbreaking loss experienced this week , I've made the decision to postpone the US leg of the STAIRWAY TO THE SKY Tour," he wrote. "The dates are being rescheduled for January and I'll post them as soon as it's all set in the next few days. Your tickets will remain valid for the new dates. Love you all and thank you for your understanding."

Payne passed away on Wednesday (October 16) after falling multiple stories from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The 31-year-old suffered "extremely serious" injuries after reportedly "jumping from the balcony of his room," according to police. A preliminary autopsy report showed he died from injuries causing "internal and external hemorrhage," while a toxicology report was "still pending."

Following news of his death, fans and friends took to social media to mourn the loss of the singer , including his fellow 1D bandmates , Niall Horan , Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson . Tomlinson shared a lengthy message mourning a brother and best friend , Styles said his "heart breaks" with the loss of his "lovely friend," and Horan said "it just doesn't feel real" that his "amazing friend" is gone.

In his own lengthy emotional tribute, ZAYN shared how he was "beyond devastated" after losing his "brother," adding, "I hope that wherever you are right now you are good and are at peace and you know loved you are."
