Traffic heavily impacted on NB I-435 at MO 210 as crews clear overturned semi

Traffic is struggling to make progress on northbound Interstate 435 at Missouri 210 Highway as crews clear an overturned semi from the interstate Saturday afternoon.

I-435 was closed in both directions before crews opened one lane of southbound traffic on the far right at around 12:50 p.m.

About 10 minutes later, one lane of northbound traffic was opened back up for motorists.

All northbound lanes were then closed again as crews worked to get the semi upright and off the interstate.

Now, one northbound lane and two southbound lanes are open.

KC Scout traffic cameras show crews working to get the semi off the interstate as of 3 p.m.

Drivers have been asked to avoid the area and find an alternate route.

It is unclear what caused the accident and if there were any injuries.
