Alvin Kamara emphatically addresses trade speculation on social media

With the New Orleans Saints in a freefall following five straight losses, including a blowout defeat at the hands of the Denver Broncos in Week 7, there has been some speculation about running back Alvin Kamara possibly being traded.

The reason behind that speculation has to do with the fact that the Saints appear to be going nowhere fast and they may want to unload a 29-year-old running back who has just one more year left on his current deal after 2024.

The speculation also comes in the same week in which Kamara faced off against his former head coach, Sean Payton, who could use an upgrade at running back in Denver.

However, Kamara took to social media on Saturday to shoot down speculation that he could be traded, or that he wants to be traded.

"I ain't request a trade... so that’s a lie," Kamara wrote . "I’m in an orange robe on the way to Knoxville."

Of course, Kamara is referencing his alma mater, Tennessee, which is set to take on Alabama on Saturday. The former All-Pro running back also confirmed that he prefers to finish his career in New Orleans.

"Correct," Kamara replied when a Saints beat writer said the running back wants to stay with the Saints.

"If it’s any news, I’ll report that [expletive] from my couch," Kamara added . "Or I’ll call my (brother Michael Thomas) and have him break the news. Other than that, we vibed out."

Kamara has been playing at a high level this season, tallying 690 scrimmage yards and seven total touchdowns. But the Saints' offense has been dreadful since a 2-0 start, and now New Orleans is without quarterback Derek Carr, whose status remains up in the air.

It remains to be seen if the Saints are actually willing to deal Kamara, who would net a strong return in a trade. But it's something the team might consider if things continue to go south.

I really don't blame him at all, this is fucking ridiculous. Dennis Allen and Mickey Loomis and Derek Carr most definitely Go.
