    Assault victims have triggers

Assault victims may be triggered by what makes someone else laugh. Consider people who continue to enjoy Pepe Le Pew's antics while K. Coles from Southside, Virginia, is among those who wish Pepe were canceled.

Coles says she is triggered by the skunk who can't accept "No!" because she has been assaulted on dates more than once after saying no. N Palmer says she was attacked on the campus of Liberty University. Both women say they speak for others who don't understand how anyone can watch Pepe cartoons.

In the eye of the beholder

Palmer added that watching Pepe Le Pew forcing kisses and caresses on the cats he mistakes for skunks is distasteful. Charlotte J from Southwest Virginia says Pepe is a relic of his era and should remain for those who enjoy him on retro cartoons.

She says she and others who grew up watching Le Pew looking for love see him as harmless. Charlotte adds that they are not intentionally trying to offend assault victims. They have not experienced the same trauma and just want to enjoy fond past memories.
