It didn’t take long for Bulls rookie Matas Buzelis to earn a coveted Stacey King nickname. The Bulls commentator is known for giving players flashy nicknames like Jimmy G Buckets, the Turkish Hammer, and Sub Zero.

King was asked by fans as early as Summer League what his nickname for Buzelis would be, with King saying on his Gimme The Hot Sauce podcast, that guys have to earn nicknames.

Through the first several preseason games, Stacey used the Praying Mantis nickname Matas was referred to before he entered the NBA. On his podcast, King would admit that’s not one of his better nicknames.

During last night’s preseason finale win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, when Matas would rise up to knock down a 3-pointer, referring to Buzelis vertical, Stacey dubbed Matas, “Lil Buzey-Vert”.

    Another Injury For PWill

After sitting out a game in a half, with a jammed wrist, Patrick Williams was ruled out of the 2nd half of the game due to an ankle injury. The Bulls have been super cautious with injuries this preseason, and this does seem to be the case here.

With Williams telling CHSN’s KC Johnson, that he would have kept playing if it were the regular season. Still given Williams’s injury history, it’s something to keep an eye on.
