Titans Drop Will Levis Announcement After Naming Mason Rudolph Week 7 Starter

The Tennessee Titans surprised fans on Saturday afternoon when they revealed that Mason Rudolph would be their starter in Week 7 against the Buffalo Bills rather than Will Levis, who has started all five games for the team this season.

The Titans claimed that Levis' shoulder injury that he suffered in their Week 4 victory over the Miami Dolphins was the reason for this move, but many folks believed that Levis' struggles led to the team turning to Rudolph.

It appears as if that isn't the case, though. Shortly after the news of Rudolph starting over Levis came out, the team revealed that Rudolph is battling through a grade 2 AC sprain in his throwing shoulder, and that he could ultimately miss several weeks as a result of the injury.

Despite this injury, Levis still suited up in Week 6 to take on the Indianapolis Colts, which led to the initial assumption that he had been benched. It seems that he was trying to play through an injury that was more serious than initially believed, which has resulted in the team turning to Rudolph.

Still, Levis is an incredibly tough player, and the team is operating on a week-by-week timeline with him and this injury, even though it typically holds players out for four-to-five weeks.

While he is battling an injury, Levis has not been good this season, as he's thrown for just 699 yards and five touchdowns, while throwing a league-leading seven interceptions and losing three fumbles as well. The hope is that giving him time to recover from this ailment will help him better once he returns to the field.

For now, Rudolph is the guy in charge of the Titans offense, and all eyes will be on him to see if he can help Tennessee get on track in their Week 7 clash against the Buffalo Bills.

Mason Rudolph will not be any better than Will. The Titans will continue to lose games. The game is more than just a QB.
