The USC Trojans headed cross country to face the Maryland Terrapins on Saturday in the school's fifth Big Ten college football game since transitioning from the Pac-12 this past offseason.

With the score tied at seven midway through the second quarter, Trojans quarterback Miller Moss dropped back to pass from Maryland's 15-yard line. He lobbed a perfectly placed jump ball in the right back corner of the end zone.

Wide receiver Ja’Kobi Lane went up and came down with it, making an incredible one-handed touchdown grab with his left arm as the defender held onto his right.

USC converted the extra point to go up 14-7.

At the half, Lane had three catches for 38 yards and a touchdown.

Following Lane's touchdown grab, fans immediately took to social media to share their reactions, all calling it the catch of the year.

"Catch of the Year candidate..." one fan said.

"One of the best catches I've ever seen holy," another wrote.

"Catch of the year," added a fan.

"Catch of the year Candidate!" a fan added. "Absolutely unreal!"

"that might be catch of the year," another said.

"Candidate for catch of the year!" a fan wrote.

"Catch of the year," added another.

Lane is a sophomore who's made a name for himself with his one-handed catches. He had one back in high school and another more recently in Week 5 against the Wisconsin Badgers .

In USC's six games before Saturday, Lane had accumulated 23 receptions for 252 yards and four touchdowns on the season.
