Apartment complex shooting on Binford Drive ruled accidental by Huntsville Police

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. ( WHNT ) — The Huntsville Police Department has ruled a shooting at an apartment complex on Binford Drive Saturday as accidental.

On Sunday, HPD told News 19 the woman is likely to survive her injuries. They also said no one else was injured in this shooting.

HPD also said the suspects that were detained following the incident have been released.

HPD said the shooting has been ruled as an accident.

According to HPD, the shooting took place at around 3:30 p.m. Officers found a woman who was shot after getting onto the scene.

HEMSI spokesperson Don Webster said the woman was taken to Huntsville Hospital Trauma Services where she is still being assessed.

HPD said the other party involved in the shooting was detained.
