McCoy's injury came in the third quarter at the end of play on a collision with Alabama's Roberts. He exited the field limping.

The 6-foot defensive back came up with a big interception in the first quarter, when he picked off Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe in the end zone with an impressive leaping catch. He returned the pick for 54 yards, setting the Vols up in Crimson Tide territory. Tennessee kicker Max Gilbert missed the field goal eight plays later.
