Alex Bowman had a whole series of problems last weekend.

Bowman, the driver of the No. 48 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Hendrick Motorsports, was disqualified from the Bank of America Roval 400 on Sunday. Bowman’s No. 48 Chevy was disqualified after failing to make minimum weight following the race.

The consequences for the ruling were significant; Bowman had finished 18th in the race, which put him in position to move on to the Round of 8 in the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs. However, the DQ moved him down the list and Joey Logano jumped him for the final spot in the next round.

On Saturday, Bowman told reporters that he threw his phone into a swimming pool because he was so upset with the news and knew he would be getting a bunch of text messages. The phone then somehow called 911 thinking that he had been in a car crash. Fortunately, police did not show up at his house, and his phone still works.

As if all that weren’t enough, Bowman also told reporters that his car window cracked in the cold and the roof on his house leaked.

Here is Bowman talking about the crazy run of bad luck.
