First taking the stage during the 1960s, Cher found success alongside her former husband Sonny Bono. Together, they made up the hit group Sonny & Cher. While the couple eventually divorced during the 1970s, Cher never stopped sharing her love for music. Throughout the following decades, the singer released albums like Take Me Home and Believe. Winning countless awards and selling over 100 million albums, the star celebrated another milestone when she received a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Wanting to celebrate her long, prosperous career, the icon joined forces with Dua Lipa to give a spectacular performance of “Believe.”

Kicking off the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, Lipa took the stage to honor the ongoing legacy of Cher. But the singer wasn’t about the sit-out as she eventually made her way to the stage for a powerful duet of “Believe.”

Iconic is not a big enough to describe her!” And one comment read, “Such an incredible performance by @cher at the rock & roll hall of fame tonight made me emotional. Just wow.”

Cher Once Criticized The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame

Although giving a heartfelt speech about her dreams as a young girl and it being easier to get divorced than enter the Hall of Fame, Cher once criticized the Rock Hall for constantly looking past her contributions to music. Back in December, she appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show and told host Kelly Clarkson, “You know what? I wouldn’t be in it now if they gave me a million dollars. I’m not kidding you.” Insisting she would never change her mind, Cher added, “They can just go you-know-what themselves… I changed music forever with ‘Believe.’”

Only a few months later, Cher learned she would be part of the 2024 induction ceremony. And thankfully, she changed her mind and crossed another milestone in her career.
