Pat McAfee Has Brutal Five-Word Reaction To USC's Embarrassing Loss to Maryland

This likely isn't what Lincoln Riley and the USC Trojans had in mind when blowing up the Pac-12 Conference and escaping to the Big Ten a year ago.

On Saturday afternoon, the Trojans lost on the road to the Maryland Terrapins, 29-28, blowing a 14-point lead in the fourth quarter and falling to 3-4 on the season. After starting the year 2-0 and being ranked inside the Top 25, USC has now lost four of their last five games and have legitimate concerns about making a bowl game.

The latest loss elicited some brutal reactions from the college football world, one of which came from ESPN's Pat McAfee.

While there are many teams who had a hand to play in the death of the Pac-12 Conference, USC was at the forefront of the destruction of the beloved conference. The idea was that this historic program on the West Coast was big enough and dominant enough to compete with some of the top teams in the Big Ten and return to their national powerhouse status. However, that hasn't been the case so far, with the Trojans looking far out of their depth in 2024.

At this point, there have to be some serious questions about head coach Lincoln Riley, who has looked uncomfortable in his role as a head coach in the Big Ten, especially without a Heisman quarterback leading his offense.

The upcoming teams on USC's schedule should be beatable for a Trojans team that we consider competent. In the remaining weeks of the regular season, USC will face Rutgers, Nebraska, UCLA, Washington, and Notre Dame.

The Trojans need three more wins to become bowl-eligible. If they don't get there, we could see the end of Riley in Los Angeles.

USC is a shitty school in a shitty neighborhood in a shitty city. Not many kids want to go there anymore.
