(The Hill) — Legendary singer Cher shared her endorsement of Vice President Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D), on social media Friday night, saying she’s been a follower of Harris’s for years.

“I have followed Kamala Harris since she was my U.S. senator,” the “Believe” singer said in a video posted to X . “She fought for me then and she is fighting for all of us now. That’s why I’m proudly voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.

She continued, “I know they will fight to protect our rights and I’m so grateful to be able to make my voice count this year. I hope you will too.”

Cher has previously taken issue with former President Trump, saying earlier in October that she would leave the country if Trump is reelected.

“I almost got an ulcer the last time,” she previously told The Guardian .

The iconic performer’s endorsement is one of several celebrity endorsements the Harris-Walz campaign has received — pop star Taylor Swift notably endorsed the vice president and Minnesota governor in September.

Democrats have since capitalized on Swift’s endorsement, including launching a Taylor Swift-themed voting campaign tied to the final leg of the singer’s international tour.
