    Annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s event held in Charlotte

    CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The Alzheimer’s Association’s Western Carolina Chapter held its annual Walk To End Alzheimer’s event in Charlotte Saturday morning.

    Queen City News’s Chief Meteorologist Tara Lane and Anchor Julian Sadur co-emceed the opening ceremony.

    Around 2,000 participants honored those impacted by Alzheimer’s with a ‘Promise Garden’ ceremony. Walkers carried flowers of various colors representing their personal connections to the disease.

    $692,00 has been raised so far to go towards fund care, support and research programs of the Alzheimer’s Association.

    Another walk and ceremony will be held in Hickory, N.C. at the LP Frans Stadium on 2500 Clement Blvd, starting at 10 a.m.

    Donations towards the $1 million goal will be accepted through December 31st at the Alzheimer’s Association website .
