The latter was shown during ESPN’s national television broadcast of No. 2 NDSU vs. No. 1 SDSU on Saturday evening. The Wahpeton line shined in pass protection, buying Kubela time to fire his 14th and 15th touchdown passes of the season.Defensively, Evan Dockter grabbed an interception and posted two tackles for loss. Isaiah Bruechert, Mauch and Luke Anderson each found the sack column by pressuring star quarterback Brevin Wark throughout the contest.Michael Peterson relieved Mauch in the backfield midway through the fourth quarter, churning out positive yardage to help the Huskies grind down the clock. Peterson’s downhill brand of running was aided by a dominant night for the Wahpeton blockers, who consistently won the line of scrimmage.Wahpeton (4-4) hosts Grand Forks Central (1-7) on Friday with a chance to lock up the No. 3 seed and a home playoff game in the East Division ranks.
