Missouri Baptist scored first as Ognjen Bozovic scored his fourth goal of the season off of a pass from Jack Ridley in the 58th-minute. As time was expiring, it seemed that Missouri Baptist was going to pull of the upset until Lars Ly was pulled down in the box, earning Columbia a penalty kick with just nineteen seconds left to play.
