REI Plans Major Expansion with New Stores in CA, NY, CO, WA, TX, UT in Next Two Years

REI Co-op is gearing up for an exciting lineup of new store openings in 2025, with expansions planned across six states to support outdoor enthusiasts. The specialty retailer will open stores in Carlsbad, Chico, and Elk Grove, California; Amherst, New York; Durango, Colorado; and Lynnwood, Washington, starting next spring and summer. Looking ahead to 2026, REI has also announced plans for new locations in Prosper, Texas, and St. George, Utah.

Each location will offer a wide selection of outdoor gear, a full-service bike shop, and seasonal ski and snowboard services in select stores. REI members will enjoy exclusive discounts on services and repairs.

These new stores will enhance REI’s presence in outdoor-friendly regions and provide access to high-quality gear for camping, hiking, cycling, and more. Additional 2026 locations will be announced as leases are finalized.
