Texas QB Quinn Ewers Drops 5-Word Admission About His Injury

In his second game back after sustaining an injury earlier in the season, Quinn Ewers had a tale of two halves for the Texas Longhorns in their loss to the Georgia Bulldogs.

Ewers had a rough start during Saturday's game and was even benched mid-game as Steve Sarkisian put backup QB Arch Manning in a bid to get some offensive spark. At that point, the Longhorns were down 20-0 as Ewers completed just six of his 12 passes for 17 yards, one interception and a fumble.

In the third quarter, however, Sarkisian put Ewers back in and he impressed with two touchdown passes to get Texas football back into the game.

The Longhorns, unfortunately, weren't able to carry the momentum in the fourth quarter. They went scoreless once again, while the Bulldogs sealed the 30-15 victory with an early touchdown run from Trevor Etienne.

Sure enough, considering Ewers' inconsistent play, there were a number of questions about his health status following the game.

Ewers missed two games after suffering an oblique injury against the UTSA Roadrunners on September 14. He returned to action in their October 12 showdown with the Oklahoma Sooners, finishing with 199 yards, a touchdown and an interception on 20-of-29 pass completion.

Ewers basically hinted that he's still not at 100 percent , but he clarified to reporters that "it's not a big issue."

For what it's worth, it doesn't look like Steve Sarkisian is concerned about his quarterback's health. That much is clear as the Texas football head coach clarified after their loss to Georgia that Quinn Ewers remains their QB1.

It remains to be seen how Ewers' recent injury and current recovery will affect his performance moving forward. However, the 21-year-old will have a chance to erase all concerns about his health when they play the Vanderbilt Commodores and Florida Gators next.
