Kevin Durant Responds to Texas' Loss to Georgia

Kevin Durant remains confident in Texas, despite the Longhorns suffering their first loss of the season against Georgia on Saturday.

Texas fell behind early and couldn’t recover against Georgia, as the Bulldogs dominated from the start. Georgia raced to a commanding 23-0 lead by halftime and secured a 30-15 victory.

The Bulldogs' defense was relentless, forcing four turnovers and holding Steve Sarkisian’s typically high-powered offense to just 259 total yards.

It's the first setback of the season for Texas, but Durant — a proud Texas alum — is unwavering in his support of the Longhorns.

"It’s still (horns emoji) forever," Durant wrote on X . "Georgia played some great ball, especially that defense, my god. The bounce back will be special. Hook em."

Durant had a short but standout college basketball career at Texas. He spent just one year with the Longhorns before entering the NBA in 2007. As a freshman, Durant averaged 25.8 points and 11.1 rebounds per game, earning numerous accolades, including the prestigious Naismith College Player of the Year award.

Texas has some things to figure out this week before facing a surging Vanderbilt team that has won three in a row.

Georgia has a week off before returning to face Florida in another SEC showdown.
