CLEMSON – The No. 10 Clemson Tigers improved their win streak this season to six in a row after their 48-31 victory against the Virginia Cavaliers on Saturday.

Linebacker Wade Woodaz spoke with the media following Saturday’s game at Memorial Stadium to recap his thoughts, his performance and more.

–Virginia’s offense had five scoring drives during the game. Clemson’s defense held the Cavaliers to four touchdowns and one field goal and scored three of the touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Woodaz said, “I’m never happy when we give up touchdowns, especially when we make stupid mistakes which is frustrating…we saw what happened when we were able to settle in and focus on our job.”

–This is the second weekend in a row where the defense has allowed points in the first quarter. The linebacker was asked about the slow start but making an impact in the next two quarters, he replied, “I think it shows that we respond…we started slow but it does show that we respond which is a good trait of good teams.”

–Woodaz pressure on defense led to a fumble recovered by the Tigers in the third quarter. When asked what he saw on the play, the junior said, “I got the call. Whenever I get a blitz, I start itching a little bit, so I was really excited.

–Recording their sixth win of the season and fifth in conference, Clemson remains undefeated in ACC play. Woodaz said there is nothing special to that happening, but sticking to a routine and staying hungry is part of it. “Being consistent in and out every day, we just have to keep it rolling.”
