Uncanny ‘SNL’ Doom-scroll Sketch Uses Billie Eilish to Skewer Your Favorite TikTokers

Saturday Night Live has always loved making fun of celebrities, and it just so happens that in 2024, we've got a whole new genre of them: TikTokers. It only makes sense then that on the latest episode of SNL Season 50, the show spoofed some of TikTok's biggest trends and influencers using their cast and impressive roster of A-list cameo stars.
In a pre-taped sketch during Episode 4 (hosted by Michael Keaton ), we see a vertical “phone” screen that avoids text messages in favor of mindlessly swiping through TikTok videos (AKA doom-scrolling). While the show makes fun the broader characters you see while scrolling, like fitness influencers, cat lovers and everyday people who’ve started hocking products through TikTok Shop, SNL also takes some more targeted shots. We even see Heidi Gardner take on a "tradwife" version of Nara Smith , the influencer who makes things like toothpaste and chewing gum from scratch for her family . “As a 22-year-old mother of 10,” she says, “I like to do everything by hand. So I mashed up my law degree to make more [coloring] paper for my kids.”
As the sketch continues, it gets more specific, with the SNL cast impersonating viral TikTokers like Bethenny Frankel ( Chloe Fineman ), who infamously chowed down on crawfish , Call Her Daddy’ s Alex Cooper (also Fineman) with her signature highbrow/lowbrow content, and singing(?) influencer Harry Daniels ( Bowen Yang ) song-bombing celebrities . Yang's Daniels surprises Kamala Harris ( Maya Rudolph ) and Donald Trump ( James Austin Johnson ) before cornering the episode’s musical guest Billie Eilish who appears as herself. Eilish and the IRL Harry Daniels had a clip go viral earlier this year where she spots him trying to sing at her and hilariously shuts it down. In the spoof, she hands Yang a stack of cash saying, “Here’s 10 grand. Please stop following me.”
Before the scene ends we’re treated to another cameo from Dana Carvey as President Joe Biden who is dipping a toe into the world of TikTok Shop. The writers even managed to sneak in a little easter egg from last week’s episode with host Ariana Grande . We see the new featured cast member Emil Wakim dancing with his cat to a parody version of “Espresso” (renamed “ Domingo ”) which at the time of writing has almost 90 million views on SNL ’s TikTok page.
