New York Jets EDGE Haason Reddick has come to terms with the team on an adjusted contract, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter .

Reddick was traded to the Jets from the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason, hoping to provide an immediate boost to the New York defense. However, a contract holdout with the franchise has kept him from playing a snap this season. He will report to the team on Monday, meaning he will sit out for Week 7’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

“We will continue to work towards a long term extension with the Jets,” said Reddick’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, via Schefter’s report.

Rosenhaus took over Reddick’s situation when his former agency, CAA, decided to part way with current Jets linebacker due to his long holdout after being traded. It appears as though his return will come sooner than later.

Reddick’s choice to sit out games racked him up several million dollars in fines — however, the Jets have agreed to waive over $12 million in fines “in return for Haason Reddick honoring his contract for the remainder of the season,” per Schefter’s report . It’s unclear as of this report how much in total Reddick was fined, or how much is left over after the Jets waived the large sum.

Over the past couple of seasons, Reddick has been one of the NFL’s top pass rushers, being voted to the Pro Bowl in 2022 and 2023. Four straight years have we seen him recording double-digit sacks with a career-high 16 taking place in 2022 with the Eagles.

Some of his production came while wearing Arizona Cardinals and Carolina Panthers uniforms as well, making the Jets his fourth team in five years.

As Reddick gears up to make his presumed return for Week 8 against the New England Patriots, he’ll watch on as his team plays on Sunday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:20 p.m. ET live on NBC and Peacock.
