INDIANAPOLIS — Indy Metro Police are investigating after someone was hit by a car outside a business Saturday morning.

Officers say a man was hit in the parking lot of the Checkered Flag Tavern on West Morris Street around 12:30 a.m. The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but he did not survive.

Apparently, the car that had hit the man left the scene following the crash.

At this time, police believe the suspect and another person had gotten into a disagreement at the tavern, and the suspect was ultimately asked to leave.

But, instead of simply driving away, that individual may have driven his/her “full-size SUV” into a “crowd of people,” hitting the victim. It is not clear if the victim knew the suspect prior to this incident.

If you know anything about this, you are asked to call the IMPD Homicide Office, or contact Crime Stoppers.

This is so sad. How can someone run another person down and just leave them to die? Talk about being inhumane..I couldn't hit an animal and leave them let alone a human being. Prayers to the deceased family and friends. I pray they get the monster who done this.
