Join Wildflower Bookshop and Minnesota North College - Itasca Campus in hosting Marcie Rendon, Anthony Anselmo, and Candace Simar at the Itasca Campus Student Center on Thursday, Oct. 24 from 6-7:30 p.m.

The three authors will be talking about the joys and challenges of being Minnesota Authors, the process of writing books, and any questions you might have!

This event starts at 6 p.m. at the Student Center on the Itasca Campus and will have a 45 minute author talk, followed by a 15 minute Q&A session. The night will end with the authors signing books.

Marcie Rendon Earth Nation, author, playwright, poet, and freelance writer. Also a community arts activist, Rendon supports other native artists / writers / creators to pursue their art, and is a speaker for colleges and community groups on Native issues, leadership, and writing.

She is an award-winning author of a fresh new murder mystery series, and also has an extensive body of fiction and nonfiction works.

Her newest book is "Where They Last Saw Her" which came out in Sept. 2024.

Anthony is a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Band of Ojibwe. He grew up in the small town of Effie in northern Minnesota where the woods are still wild. His love for the mysterious has inspired him to write about the strange and unusual weaving his own experiences into the tales that are both captivating and slightly haunting. In The Spirit of the North Wind, his debut novel, he draws on his heritage to create a story rich in Native American folklore.

Candace Simar likes to imagine how things might have been. She combines her love of history with her Scandinavian heritage in historical novels that examine the early days of Minnesota and North Dakota. “I write historical novels to share painless history lessons about the fascinating and unique history of our region.”

Wildflower Bookshop will be selling all the authors' books at this event.
